The Harlan County Domestic Violence Council is dedicated to the elimination of domestic violence in all it's forms.

 

Our Mission

 

Through community education, networking and the empowerment of battered women and children, HCDVC serves as a forum for social action and the development of services for battered women and their families by bringing its membership and the community together. HCDVCis a diverse network of concerned citizens who work together through the coalition to coordinate services, exchange information and work on issues of common concern.,thereby providing a unified, statewide environment that will nurture members’ local, community-based efforts to stop domestic violence.

• Domestic violence is a crime.

• Domestic violence is preventable.

• Victims/survivors are not to blame.

• Perpetrators are responsible for their own actions.

• The most effective way to reduce domestic violence is through coordinated community effort.
